My name is Pipsqueak. As of today, I am an 8 week old, spotted tabby kitten. I'm a sweet little girl, but I can be feisty...because hey, let's face it: I'm about 2 years old in human years. Terrible two's are part of my life! I am active, crazy and go NON-STOP! It's fun to bite my humans, and attack their legs, and just make them laugh. That's the best thing. Making them laugh. Because they love me so much. And that love is why I'm here.
Here's my story:
I was living with 5 of my kitty siblings in a warehouse wall. Momma kept us safe from the "two legs", or humans. One day, my momma didn't come back. Shortly after that, one of my brothers disappeared! The five of us who were left cried and cried...for momma, and for our brother. But momma and brother didn't come back. We grew weaker and weaker. Then a human showed up. By that time, there was only me and another brother left. The human took us to his home. He had a nice lady who helped us. She gave us baths (YUCK!) and tried to help get the fleas off us. As it turns out, the humans we were with had our little brother! The one who had disappeared! They gave us some food, and kept us for a night...then another human took us. I wanted my other brother too, but the first humans kept him.
Hi - I'm Pipsqueak's mom, Linda. Back in August, Scotty and I had dental appointments. Since Hannah was gone to camp, we scheduled hers for the following week. While at our appointment, we heard a tiny kitten crying. Our hygienist and her husband had a 2 week old kitten! She'd brought him in because she had to bottle-feed him every 2 hours or so. Poor little thing, he was SO tiny! I kidded with her, telling her that if she didn't want him, I'd take him. The following week, we went back for Hannah's appointment and Hannah fell in LOVE with the baby kitten. He was truly sweet. My hygienist told me they'd decided to keep him, which I knew they would do! Then on Thursday of the same week, I get a call from her...her husband had found 2 MORE kittens in the warehouse...along with 3 that had not survived. They'd not been able to locate the mom. Her husband brought the babies home, and then my wonderful dentist took them in to foster them till someone wanted them. So, after discussing it with the family, we decided we'd adopt one of them. On Monday, I went to pick up Pipsqueak and she immediately became a part of our family.
So...the other human took us, and he kept us for a few days...we went for a ride, and then they put us in a room with food and water. We spent most of the day huddled together, my brother and I. We were afraid, and we missed momma and our siblings. In the afternoon, this lady came. She played with me and my brother and everyone looked at us and ooh'ed and aah'ed. Eventually though, the lady decided that she was going to take me home. She put me in this bag...it had sides I could see out of, but still, I wanted my brother! I cried all the way to where we were going. She talked kindly to me and then when she stopped, she took me into a house. There were 3 other people waiting for me. Boy, they were all so BIG, those humans! There was a smaller one, then one with long stuff on her head that I thought "hmmmm....that's gonna be fun to play with someday!"...there was another human and that one reminded me of the kind man who had cared for me and my brother. I went right to him. I was VERY scared at first. I missed my momma, and these humans were strange. They were so kind to me though, and I knew that I would be safe.
Pipsqueak went immediately to Scott when I first brought her home. She would go to him every time she got on the couch. The kids were very careful with her and we all loved her so much right away. I was glad we'd made the decision to add a kitten to our family.
